Additional Information

ARTIST BIOS

Sara Lofing

I've carried around a box of broken china for years... they were too broken to glue back together, but simply too beautiful to just throw away! When I had the idea of creating jewelry out of these broken bits I decided to teach myself soldering and jewelry making. The best part about the necklaces, earrings, pendants, and key chains that I've listed is that they help create themselves! Where I decide to make a cut is often not where the plate or saucer decides to break. This means that every individual piece is completely unique, one-of-a-kind, never to be duplicated!

I also find a joy in mixed media art, ink and watercolors, charcoal stretches and acrylic paintings are some of my favorite. My goal is to maintain my sanity through reflective quiet creative time. What comes out on the paper is often a surprise!

Kurt Robinson

Kurt was born and raised right here in Kanab. With most of his life spent outdoors, Kurt has developed a keen eye for photography. This exhibit captures the natural beauty of southern Utah and Arizona.

Kurt and his coworker David Abrams have created two books, Stepping Stones on the Path of Life and Blessings for the Animal Nations, which include Kurt’s photographs and David’s writings.

Kevin Grew

I love Comic Art and Super Heroes. I have been working on my art form for the past 4 years and have currently just taken it professional with independent Children's book authors contracting me to illustrate their books to a studio in the UK contracting me to help in the development of a new superhero series. Along with my commissioned art and my own web comic book life is always on the go. I hope you all enjoy my work.

Savina Francisco

Savina Francisco is a fairytal artist whose work captures the magic and whimsy of the natural world.

Savina's love for the outdoors made Kanab, Utah the ideal spot to settle with her husband Warren and their family of dogs and cats. The breathtaking surroundings inspire her "old world" aesthetic toward painting and drawing. Although much of Savina's personal study is of the painters from the Northern Renaissance and the Romantic & Symbolist painters of the 19th century, her chosen mediums are pastel and graphite.

Barbara Young

Hi, here is my bio...I have been making canes and hiking sticks for 25 years  (One literally saved my life in Zions' natl park.) I have a very wide selection of woods and shapes to offer.

Her address is 245 West 100 North. There will be signs pointing the way, with her new studio
name, LAUGHING DOG POTTERY. Cathryn has been a potter, printmaker and practitioner of
creativity for 35 years.
Beginning the evening of October 22, Artwalk, Marcia Martin, artist, will set up a DAY OF THE
DEAD ALTER at the Laughing Dog Pottery. This traditional alter celebrates those who have
crossed over with lights, art, pictures and candles. You are welcome to add the names to the
alter of those you remember, leave their pictures, a candle, or a memento. This includes
beloved pets as well as beloved people. The alter will remain available through November 1.
Please visit through the big North Gate. Pick up is November 2.

Rebecca Gaver

Rebecca Gaver has lived in Kanab since 1994.  She paints in oils and watercolors, and draws in pen & ink, colored pencil and graphite.  She painted Kanab's first mural on the Visitor's Center, a frieze of local petroglyphs and pictographs, which lasted 16 years but is now gone; and she painted the landscape mural on the Hospital Thrift Shop.  Her work is displayed locally at Jakey Leigh's, at the Fitness Center, at Jake's Chaparral, and at the X Bar H Ranch in Orderville.
