The Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts presents artist, Tony Pro, "Real Cowboys and Cowgirls," Art exhibit.
The Los Angeles, California artist, Tony Pro, recently made a series of paintings while on a retreat at the Maynard Dixon home and studio. Tony Pro's paintings of Real Cowboys and REal Cowgirls were made of the local people from Mt. Carmel of 2014- the real cowboys and cowgirls who work the land and herd the cattle morning to night, day after day in 2014.
The history of the region called Long Valley is written on their faces. Teh hot sun develops lines of age and inspires the beauty and character of youth. Titles are of subjects, not names. But the names ring truewhen recognized whether they be Esplin, Anderson, Carroll, AHeaton, Lamb or Cox. 150 years of history as interpreted by Tony Pro.
